Tum Tum River Walk – Plants
This activity involves plant identification along the Big Eddy green belt. Discussion topics will include Sinixt history, traditional and medicinal plant uses, and landscape features depending on the season. This activity can be tailored to specific class requirements.

- Students will be transported by bus. The drop off spot is the corner of Begbie Rd and Griffiths Rd. where your class will be met by one of the district Indigenous Student Support staff members.
- We will walk along the Big Eddy green belt, stopping in various locations to identify a variety of plants. Depending on the season, we will walk to the confluence of the Tum Tum and Columbia rivers before turning back.
- Walking terrain will vary from paved paths, forest trails, and sandy beach. Pre-discussions with a member of the Indigenous department to collaborate on activities.
